Jesus called the disciples to follow him in his ministry as God the Father called all the prophets to deliver his message to the people in the Old Testament: “As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men” At once they left their nets and followed him.” (Mark 1:16-17). The first calling of disciples is to follow Jesus and to know him personally as a result of this relationship; they then lead others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Christ is still calling people today to follow him; if he calls you please answer his call the reward is great; he is waiting for you and me to take the gospel of God to the end of the earth.
In the past God communicated his Word, his Will through the prophets that he has chosen, qualified and anointed with the power of His Spirit to deliver his message to the King, and to the forefathers in the Old Testament. Jesus Christ called the disciples to follow him in is ministry as God the Father called all the prophets to deliver his message to the people in the Old Testament. Today, God has spoken and revealed himself to us by his Son Jesus Christ in a full complete message that transcends all previous words by God. God hath appointed him to be the heir of all things; by him God made the worlds, both visible and invisible, things in heaven and things on earth.
